Ride the Lightning

I have to admit, it has been a while since I listened to Metallica for the last time.

'How does that come?', you might ask. Well, I wanted to do a posting titled 'Empiness is filling me', referring to my day, which brought nothing to write about, and just when I opened the Blogger-Dahsboard to start writing, it entered my mind. This was a line in some Metallica-Lyric. I just didn't remember from which song it was (which is pretty embarassing to me, as I'm a 'Tallicat'). Finally I googled for it and became even more embarassed when I saw it was from Fade to Black which is my all-time favourite Met-Song.

All this made me rush to my DVD-Rack and chose 'S&M', which is the guys playing their asses off together with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michael Kamen.

R.I.P pal

When I saw James Hetfield walking on-stage in this 'mellow' way, only he can do and makin' the strings move and underline Lars' extraordinary drumming, which he did at this concert, it came to my mind again why this is and ever will be my favourite band, furthermore is and will be the best band that ever appeared on this place called earth.

It is a thing you can't really describe - listen to it, watch, feel it - it'll blow your mind.

Now I opened a beer, enjoy myself and watch James, Lars, Kirk and (yes, you don't need new glasses) Jason playing their asses off. I can say I'm listening to the greatest band on the planet.

...and on I burn
